My 5th grader at Hutton just found out that she might have to go to Sacajawea for 6th grade due to over enrollment. This is just uncalled for. My 5th grader is already not taking this well. We moved to this neighborhood to avoid this. Also, Hutton just had an extensive remodel. Did the district NOT see the increased enrollment. Super short sighted, if not. Can this be avoided? or is the decision already made? I look forward to your reply. Jake
What is the next plan for elementary schools that are overenrolled? I received an email regarding this problem only after the Spokesman reported it (though the numbers have been there since school started). I find it interesting that the district only chose to address it after the paper wrote about it. Then, a few days later I find out that the plan they proposed, for 5th graders to go to the middle school was shot down (as it should have been--you can't throw this on parents and kids with 6 months notice). So what is the next step? What is being done to alleviate this problem? There has been total silence for the last month on the issue. Will my kindergartener be in a class of 27 throughout her elementary career when the state mandate is moving toward 17?
